December 15, 2020 update
SENS is now operating at near full capacity with most production employees back on the job. We are working diligently to catch up on all orders that have been delayed due to our Thanksgiving week shutdown and employee quarantine. November 23, 2020 update
Given the rapid increase in C-19 in our community that has impacted multiple employees, we have elected to close our facility Thanksgiving week. We are doing this to prevent any possibility of virus transmission among employees. All employees who can are working from home, including customer service and order administration. Product and service shipments scheduled for this short Thanksgiving work-week will be delayed.
October 29, 2020 update
SENS’ factory and order operations personnel are now back and working in the plant after receiving negative tests and completing quarantine protocols. Production is working overtime to catch up on shipments delayed during quarantine. Getting fully back on schedule on all products will take time, so please advise your sales contact if you have any urgent needs.
October 22, 2020 update
A SENS Longmont employee has tested positive for COVID-19. SENS has responded per CDC recommendations for contact tracing, testing, facility disinfection and quarantining. We will not know the full outcome of these measures until the week of October 26. Quarantine measures have resulted in nearly all front office personnel temporarily working remotely, and our factory staff has been significantly reduced for a few days. We can enter and schedule orders now but are holding off sending some order acknowledgements until we know when factory personnel can return to work. Lead-times for most products will likely be extended by at least 1 week, though we are able to ship emergency orders of some products. We appreciate your understanding and patience. We will provide delivery dates for orders, and updates on shipments as soon as we are able.
October 8, 2020 update
Our supply chain is now operating normally with a few isolated delays due to surges in demand. Likewise most product lead times, with few exceptions, are also back to normal, including our ability to routinely ship emergency orders.
Our actions to keep employees safe from COVID-19 have proven effective. None has contracted the virus. Because of this we have continued to provide a high level of service to our customers, albeit with some challenges, throughout the pandemic. SENS is grateful for the strong spirit of cooperation and problem-solving shown by all of our customers, particularly those impacted by interruptions in normal deliveries. We continue to practice the safety measures described below.
June 9, 2020 update
The past month has been challenging for our supply chain. SENS has dual sources of supply for many key parts and utilized those to minimize interruption of shipments. We expect to return to normal lead times within the month. Our employees continue to remain healthy and in good spirits, with no confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19. We are continuing all measures to protect the health of our employees including disinfection protocols, use of masks and gloves, and distancing.
May 7, 2020 update
While many US states are making progress in “getting back to work”, the global industrial supply chain, including that in the United States, is becoming increasingly stressed. Many suppliers have exhausted inventories, and a range of disparate government institutions and regulations have impaired industrial companies’ ability to manufacture. Because of this, SENS is experiencing some unpredictable interruptions in component supply that are causing delays in shipping some orders and making it difficult to pin down exact shipment commitment dates for some products. SENS is working hard to minimize the effects felt by our customers. However, in many cases, there is little we can do because the delays are the result of both action and inaction at multiple levels of government, usually with little or no notice. We will continue to work hard to provide you with product and information in as timely a manner as possible. Please continue to monitor our web site for updates and the most current information. April 13, 2020 update
SENS continues to be fully operational. Our employees remain healthy with no confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19. Potential supply chain issues appear to be easing, and we expect little or no interruption of deliveries.
April 7, 2020 update
No material changes from the April 1 update. All departments are fully operational, though there may be modest delays in contacting personnel working remotely. We continue to have no confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19. All employees traveling to and from the plant have documentation identifying them as working at an essential business supporting critical infrastructure.
April 1, 2020 update
SENS continues to operate effectively in all departments. We have additional production capacity this week as some production employees returned from vacation and precautionary sick leave. Parts supply and transportation remains good, though we anticipate possible delays in parts received from Mexico as that country escalates working restrictions. All employees who can are working remotely. No confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19 at this time.

March 27, 2020 update
As of March 26, all of Colorado is under a stay-at-home order with the exception of essential businesses, of which SENS is one. We remain open. We are working closely with our supply chain to ensure continuity of parts. Our suppliers remain open and responsive, and we currently have no supply issues. Ground transportation is operating normally.
Specific to our operation:
- Order administration is fully staffed and functioning normally.
- Sales staff are all working, though response times are slower than normal due to all-remote operations and high volume of questions.
- Production is operational, but at reduced capacity. Out of an abundance of caution, a third of the production staff is out. None has tested positive for COVID-19. We expect an increase in staff mid next week as some staff return from sick leave, guided by CDC documents, after time away.
- After-sale support is fully staffed but responding more slowly than normal because all team members are working from homes and coming to the plant only as necessary to ship parts or perform repairs.
- Engineering, accounting and other functions are operational and working from home.
March 23, 2020 update
On March 22 Colorado Governor Jared Polis issued Executive Order D 2020 013 directing Colorado employers to take certain actions to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The primary directive is that at least 50% of employees work at home or if that is not possible, work staggered hours to reduce the proximity of employees during work hours. SENS is already in compliance with this order: More than 50% of our employees are already working from home, we are already staggering shifts and all employees are working at least six feet apart from one another.
Given that SENS products are essential to critical infrastructure such as power generation and distribution, water & wastewater treatment, and transportation, our intent is continue production to support our customers to the extent possible without jeopardizing the health of our employees and the public health in general.
SENS is open for business and is manufacturing normally.
As of Tuesday, March 17 SENS remains open for business, with normal transactions in all parts of the business still taking place.
We have implemented recommended countermeasures against disease transmission, including:
- Work from home for all staff except those requiring factory resources and materials
- For essential manufacturing and admin staff, social distancing, much more frequent cleaning, use of nitrile gloves where tools can’t reliably be cleaned
- Enforcing that any factory-essential staff not feeling fully healthy to stay home
- Suspending travel
- Suspending vendor and other facility visits to all but essential people
SENS intends to remain open and transacting business as long as our employees remain asymptomatic or unless advised to shut down by government authorities.
