SENS Unveils Low Cost, Convenient Battery Checking Capability

May 9, 2006, Orlando, Florida –Stored Energy Systems (SENS) unveiled a new automatic battery charger/power supply with integrated battery check called EnerGenius IQ at the 10th annual Battcon® International Stationary Battery Conference and Trade Show.

Automatic battery monitors can increase availability of non-stop power systems by alerting users of battery problems before an AC blackout takes down critical applications. Until now, battery monitoring systems have been deployed as stand-alone units that are expensive and complex.

According to SENS president Bill Kaewert, “Integrating battery checking into a charger means that advance notice of battery failure is now so straightforward and low in cost that, for the first time, it is available to nearly every site that uses a stationary battery and charger.” Such sites include utility substations, SCADA systems, industrial computers and remote communication sites.

EnerGenius® IQ contains several industry firsts including system data logger, dual microprocessor architecture that eliminates a single point failure and a powerful user interface featuring mimic panel and plain language display.   Click here for more information.

EnerGenius IQ will be available 2nd half of 2006 and is expected to be price-competitive with older technology utility grade chargers. For 35 years SENS high reliability stationary battery chargers and DC Power Systems have been a vital part of keeping the electric power, petroleum and communications infrastructures powered up despite AC blackouts.
