July 10, 2009, Longmont, Colorado – SENS today announced the introduction of a significant enhancement to its industry-leading NRG engine-start battery chargers. Over the next several weeks the company will be rolling out new versions of both 10 and 20 amp NRG’s with an automatic volt / amp display that eliminates the first generation unit’s manual switch.
The new front panel alternately displays volts and amps without the need for a switch. Users can, if they prefer, freeze the display on volts or amps by changing a jumper on the control board. The alternating display and the NRG’s large easy-to-see numerals now enable technicians to easily check both volts and amps without any intervention.
Eliminating the front panel switch eliminates an electromechanical part, the least reliable class of component. This change will further boost the NRG’s already outstanding field reliability of over 1 millions hours observed field MTBF.
SENS will begin shipping the new NRG’s starting this week and expects to convert all shipments within approximately ten weeks.
