SENS Announces Major Feature Enhancements To EnerGenius IQ Platform
October 15, 2009, Longmont CO. SENS (Stored Energy Systems LLC) today announced significant enhancements to its award-winning EnerGenius IQ line of industrial and utility stationary battery chargers. The new CommsGenius multifunction communications processor provides an innovative set of networking capabilities. New and unique to the industry, EnerGenius IQ firmware can be field upgraded to enable future expansion of the charger’s capability without hardware upgrade. And in response to global demand, 50Hz/60Hz IQ models now carry the CE standards compliance mark.
The CommsGenius multi-function communications processor delivers advanced communications features, some of which are charger industry firsts. Modbus communications are implemented over both RS-485 and 10BaseT Ethernet. Communications setup is a snap, thanks to the industry-first USB interface. Users can now set up charger and communications parameters using a graphical user interface (GUI) on a standard PC. The SENS-provided PC utility software even enables creation and restoration of stored charger and communications setting configurations. Stored configurations reduce labor time and quality errors when deploying or making setting changes to a fleet of chargers.
With or without the CommsGenius option SENS EnerGenius IQ is the first utility/industrial charger designed for easy feature addition at any time without hardware change. Users can now upgrade both charger and CommsGenius firmware as additional charger features and communications protocols become available.
CommsGenius and the new 2.0 IQ firmware update are available immediately from SENS.
