SENS Statements Regarding European RoHS and WEEE Directives
Directive 2002/95/EC, restriction on the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS)
SENS stationary battery chargers are properly considered "monitoring and control instruments" (Category 9) as defined in Annex 1A of Directive 2002/96/EC on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). The RoHS directive only applies to WEEE categories 1-7 and 10, as stated in the "Article 2 - Scope" section of the directive. As such, SENS chargers are exempt from the RoHS requirements and not currently required to comply with the RoHS Directive.
Directive 2002/96/EC, on waste in electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)
The design and application of SENS products are for use in “large-scale industrial tools”, i.e. “machines or systems consisting of a combination of equipment, systems, finished products and/or components”. The WEEE directive thus does not currently apply to SENS products. For detailed information, please reference
