ENGINE STARTING
Solving Genset Battery Failure
Leading the Way in Genset Battery Chargers
Industrial generator engines start by deploying an external stored energy source to activate the engine starters, which rotate the engine crankshaft. This stored energy can be in the form of compressed air or energy from batteries.
The vast majority of emergency generators utilize a battery system to provide the power for engine starting. These battery systems are typically 12V for small engines (<250kw), and 24V for engines from 250kW to 4MW.
The number one problem with emergency and standby gensets is starting battery failure. Mission critical engine start batteries, chargers, and systems need to be properly specified and maintained to ensure emergency generator start when called upon – every. single. time.
SENS provides the world’s most reliable power conversion and energy storage systems designed and manufactured in the US specifically for today’s mission critical engines.
